This recipe got my attention at the word, bacon! Seeing the word sweet potato didn’t hurt either. This was, hands down, the best damn burger I have ever made! If you don’t make these, you are missing out!
I found this beauty on The Foodie & Family Blog.
The recipe calls for 2 pounds of turkey. Well I only had 1 pound of turkey…so I just used a pound of beef with it…so my burgers were Turkey/Beef burgers;) Also the recipe indicates it makes 8 burgers, but I was able to get 11 nice sized patties out of it.
Here it is:
Bacon & Sweet Potato Turkey Burgers

Ingredients
2 pounds ground turkey
1/2 pound bacon
1 cup shredded sweet potato
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
In a large frying pan, cook bacon until almost crisp. Remove bacon and chop into pieces (when cooled).
In a large bowl, combine bacon with turkey, sweet potato, onion, egg, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Form into 8 patties.
Cook in bacon fat (or coconut oil) for 7 minutes per side; or until cooked through. Serve on a bed of lettuce.
